Alcatel has been involved in installing various switching system in Iran.The most notable is the Alcatel 1000 S12 involving 2,597,000 terminationsand 156 exchanges.
Besides supplying a good portion of Iran's digital switches, as well asthe X.25 data network of DCI, Alcatel was also involved, in 1992, in amajor submarine optical fiber cable laying project between Iran (TCI) andthe UAE (Etisalat).
