KASHAN SCHOOLNET PROJECT
The Kashan Schoolnet Project is part of Schoolnet Iran - a nationwide project for networking Iranians schools, directed and supported by SAF.
Partner: SAF's local partner in this project and the host of the city's School Information Center (already established) is Kashan University.

Estimates for expenses related to the Kashan Schoolnet Project are:
The School Information Center hosted at Kashan University acts as Internet Service Provider and tech-support center for all schools under coverage in Kashan.
Total expenses for connecting 10 schools in Kashan will therefore be $118,750 for the first year, and $25,000 for each subsequent year.
Match funding: We have a generous donor who matches every Dollar you donate. Any amount you contribute towards the Kashan Schoolnet Project will therefore be doubled and spent entirely on the project.

Project Technical Details
Internet Connectivity: High speed Internet connectivity has been provided through a satellite dish for downlink, and a leased data line for uplink. Schools will connect to the center either via dedicated leased lines or dialup.
Kashan School Information Center: This center, hosted at Kashan University, acts as a local ISP for schools in the province, and currently consists of:
School Internet Site Requirements: Each school computer lab with Internet connectivity will need
Educational Programs for Teachers: At least two computer teachers from each connected school in Kashan will receive training on networking and Internet use during workshops organized by SAF.
Mirroring Internet Resources: One of the main servers at the Kashan School Information Center will mirror the main Schoolnet site for fast and easy access to its resources by the students. Web pages for each school, and the Kashan School Information Center will also be designed.
