Iran in European Robocup 2000


The Iranian robots and team are on the left.

The first Robocup European Championships was held from May 29 - June2, 2000 at the Univeristy of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Iran was represented by Sharif University of Technology in thesegames, and became the champions in the mid-size league. In the firstround in group B, the team from Sharif beat teams from Portugal (3-1and 4-0), Sweden (4-0), and Germany (5-0), attaining 12 points, with 4wins, no defeats and no draws.

Sharif lost to the Dutch Team in the quarter finals, 2-0, but madeit to the semi-finals where it beat Ulm-Sparrows (Germany) 6-0. Thispropelled the team to the finals when Sharif beat the Italian team ART2000 1-0 to win the championship.
