TABRIZ SCHOOLNET PROJECT
The Tabriz Schoolnet Project is part of Schoolnet Iran - a nationwide project for networking Iranians schools, directed and supported by SAF.
Partner: SAF's local partner in this project and the host of the city's School Information Center is Tabriz University.

Estimates for expenses related to the Tabriz Schoolnet Project are:
The School Information Center acts as Internet Service Provider and tech-support center for all schools under coverage in East Azarbaijan.
Total expenses for connecting 10 schools in Tabriz will therefore be $160,000 for the first year, and $25,000 for each subsequent year.
Project Technical Details
Internet Connectivity: High speed Internet connectivity will be provided through a satellite dish for downlink, and a leased data line for uplink. Schools will connect to the center either via dedicated leased lines or dialup.
School Information Center Requirements: The Tabriz School Information Center, which will act as a local ISP for schools in the province currently requires the following items:
School Internet Site Requirements: Each school computer lab with Internet connectivity will need
Educational Programs for Teachers: At least two computer teachers from each connected school in Tabriz will receive training on networking and Internet use during workshops organized by SAF.
Mirroring Internet Resources: One of the main servers at the Tabriz School Information Center will mirror the main Schoolnet site for fast and easy access to its resources by the students. Web pages for each school, and the Tabriz School Information Center will also be designed.
